An egg-crate hide can provide low cover on the substrate, stand upright in matching supports or connect with other hides using horizontal stackers. These are three different arrangements, with separate fittings: choose the layout first, then count the hides and accessories it needs.

The Half-size range is the practical example here. Its upright stand fit is confirmed. The Full-size hide and matching stand and stacker remain pending CAD and fit work and are not currently available to purchase.

Flat: a low covered spot

For a simple sheltered patch in an isopod enclosure, place the Half-size egg-crate hide with its open underside towards the substrate. The substrate forms the floor beneath it. You can position it among leaf litter and other furnishings rather than building a raised arrangement.

The tile measures a nominal 57 mm wide × 111 mm long × 20 mm high. That low profile is useful when you want cover without a tall furnishing. Leave room to lift it for routine checks, and plan its position around the enclosure's damp and drier areas rather than treating the hide itself as moisture control.

For this arrangement, you need the hide only. Amount 1 supplies one tile; Amount 2 or 4 supplies two or four tiles for separate covered spots or several enclosures. Stand modules and stackers are not included.

Upright: a removable tile in a stand

An upright arrangement changes the tile's position: instead of laying it over the substrate, you lower it into slots in a separate stand. Choose this when you want the matching tile standing vertically and want to lift it out without undoing a fixing.

The Half-size upright stand modules join side by side. Two individual modules make one intended stand pair for a matching hide. The Amount option counts modules, not complete stands:

  • Amount 2 supplies two modules: one stand pair.
  • Amount 4 supplies four modules: two stand pairs.
  • Amount 8 supplies eight modules: four stand pairs.

For example, standing two matching Half-size hides upright requires two hides and four stand modules. The module pack does not include hides or horizontal stackers.

Join the modules side by side, then lower the hide into the slots. Their raised sides limit sideways movement across the tile's thickness, but the hide is not locked or screwed in. Leave clear space above it so you can lift it straight out.

A linked pair of modules measures approximately 61.75 mm wide × 61 mm deep × 26 mm high, including the projecting end connector. Those are the stand dimensions alone, not the overall dimensions with the hide fitted.

Stacked: fittings that connect matching hides

If you want matching hides arranged horizontally in a stack rather than standing upright, use the Half-size horizontal stackers. These PETG pieces slot into the matching hides to connect them for stacking; they are a different accessory from the upright stand modules.

One stacker unit is one pair of PETG pieces: two pieces in total. Here, the Amount option counts pairs:

  • Amount 1 supplies one pair: two pieces.
  • Amount 2 supplies two pairs: four pieces.
  • Amount 4 supplies four pairs: eight pieces.

For example, choosing Amount 2 gives you four stacker pieces, not two pieces or two hides. Hides are purchased separately. Decide how many matching hides you want to connect before selecting the fittings; the quantity options describe supplied pieces, not a rated stack height.

Choose around everyday access

A flat hide is the simplest choice for low cover. An upright stand suits a removable vertical arrangement, while stackers connect horizontal hides. Picture how you will reach each tile: an arrangement that fills every available gap can make checking beneath it or removing it awkward.

The hides, stand modules and stackers are PETG. For routine cleaning, rinse or clean them with water and avoid contaminants. Keep suitable substrate, leaf litter and the animal's wider enclosure needs central to the layout; these accessories organise cover rather than replacing those provisions.
