Vietnam Pill Millipede

Glomerida sp. "Vietnam" is a compact pill millipede with smooth, glossy armour and a rich dark brown body edged by narrow cream-to-golden margins around each segment. Those contrasting bands emphasise the rounded plates, giving it a clean, polished appearance that stands out without relying on bright colours or bold markings.

This is a wild-caught millipede that is allowed time to settle in captivity before sale. During this period it is monitored, encouraged to feed and given the opportunity to recover from transport before being offered for purchase. The trade name should be treated as a practical identification label rather than a confirmed species name, locality record or lineage claim.

Like other pill millipedes, it is best appreciated as a substrate-dwelling animal rather than a display pet that remains visible throughout the day. Individuals may spend long periods beneath leaf litter or within the substrate, becoming easier to observe as they move across the enclosure or emerge to feed. Rolling into a ball is a natural defensive response and should not be relied upon as a regular display behaviour.

A well-prepared enclosure should provide deep, nutritious substrate, plenty of leaf litter, decaying wood and sheltered areas to explore. A dependable damp refuge, alongside slightly drier areas and good airflow, helps create the stable woodland-floor conditions these millipedes naturally use. The substrate is more than bedding-it also forms an important part of the habitat and food source.
