Beetle Larva Starter Bundle — Flake Soil

A fixed starter materials bundle for sun beetle larvae (Pachnoda marginata), a common beginner flower beetle. For larval rearing rather than adult feeding.

Included

• 2.5L Flake Soil: coarse oak, beech and maple hardwood shavings, fermented and matured for 12 weeks.
• 2.5L Rotten Wood: mixed hardwoods, mostly oak.
• 2.5L Leaf Litter.

Isopods.co.uk confirms the flake soil has been used successfully for beetle larvae. The materials provide a decomposed organic food-and-substrate base; prepare the litter and wood to suit the larvae rather than treating intact leaves as a complete ready-mixed diet.

Use an appropriately deep, ventilated container and maintain moisture without waterlogging or drying out. Allow sufficient substrate volume per larva and avoid disturbing pupal cells. This is not a universal kit for every beetle species.

No enclosure, larvae or adult beetle food included. Select the enclosure and ongoing feeding routine for the species and number kept.
