How to Fit Magnetic Jumping Spider Decor

Magnetic jumping spider décor lets you place ledges and themed pieces on an enclosure wall without adding more ornaments to the floor. The mounting uses a piece inside the enclosure and partner magnets outside it, holding across the wall. Both the inner magnets and their outside partners are included with the relevant magnetic designs.

Start with a full set designed for your enclosure, then plan the position of each piece around opening, feeding and maintenance access. The Coffin-enclosure example below explains the approach; its fit should not be extended to every enclosure or every item in the range.

A Coffin-enclosure ledge example

The Graveyard Coffin Jumping Spider Set brings tombstone ledges together with a themed wall, crypt hide, railing bridge and other graveyard details. Use one of the set’s magnetic ledges as a starting point when planning your layout: the decoration sits inside the enclosure, with its partner magnets aligned outside the wall.

Allow space for the ledge to project into the enclosure, and leave a clear corresponding position for its outside partners. Check the size and fittings of the actual piece you are installing rather than using measurements from a different ledge or set.

The tombstone designs let you carry the graveyard theme across the enclosure. Choosing a motif is a layout decision; it does not establish that a fitting works through an unspecified wall thickness. If you are furnishing a 12x12 enclosure, start with the separate Graveyard 12x12 Jumping Spider Set rather than assuming the Coffin wall will fit.

Plan the position before bringing the magnets together

Try the proposed position visually first, with the door or lid both open and closed. A ledge on a fixed wall may leave access simpler than one placed where a door needs to travel. Allow room to reach feeding areas, remove leftovers and take the decoration out again.

Keep vents clear and leave open space between furnishings. You do not need to install every piece in a full set at once: a few accessible placements can be easier to maintain than a crowded wall.

Retreats also affect access. If a spider already has a retreat, plan around its actual position rather than moving furnishings through the silk. Take particular care around retreats near doors or lids. Our guide to planning hide, ledge and climbing-route positions helps you consider these features together before fitting them.

A themed wall needs space for both panels. The Happy Halloween Coffin Jumping Spider Set includes a lower HALLOWEEN panel and an upper HAPPY panel with a ledge, alongside its separate hide and ledges. There is also a Happy Halloween 12x12 Jumping Spider Set for the other enclosure format. Plan room for both wall panels and their outside fittings, then position the separate pieces around access and ventilation.

Fit the inner piece and outside partners

  1. Prepare the mounting area. Make the chosen inner and outer wall surfaces accessible and clear of debris. Arrange installation so the spider cannot be caught between the decoration and wall or escape through the opening; fitting an empty enclosure before introduction is the simplest opportunity.
  2. Support the decoration inside. Hold the ledge against the intended enclosure wall, keeping its platform in the orientation you want. Keep supporting it while you position the outside magnets.
  3. Bring the outside partners into alignment. Approach the corresponding positions on the outside of the wall gradually, keeping fingers clear of the meeting points. Keep control of both sides rather than allowing the magnets to snap together freely.
  4. Check the placement before letting go. Make sure the piece sits as intended and remains in position when you cautiously ease your supporting hand away. If it shifts or will not sit securely, remove it rather than relying on that placement.
  5. Test normal access. Open and close the door or lid slowly, watching both the inner piece and outside partners. Check that neither obstructs the opening, catches another furnishing or covers ventilation.

Repeat these checks for each magnetic piece you install. The included fittings establish what comes with the design, not a universal wall-thickness or load rating. Do not treat a mounted ledge as a support for additional ornaments or borrow another retailer’s mounting limits for it.

Repositioning and routine checks

Support the inner piece before separating the outside partners so it cannot drop into the enclosure. Once removed, you can choose a new position or reach the wall behind it. Avoid dragging the fitting through an occupied retreat or moving it while the spider is on the piece.

Include the mounting in your normal enclosure checks, particularly after a door movement, cleaning or a layout change. Look for a shifted piece, a displaced outside partner or newly obstructed access. A ledge offers a possible platform; the spider will choose how, or whether, to use it.
