Moss Box — Moss Not Included

Keep a chosen portion of moss together in your isopod enclosure with this freestanding moss box. It gives the moss a defined place on the substrate, while a removable lattice lid lets you reach it for checking and replacement. You receive the basket and lid, ready to fill with your own moss.

The basket sits directly on the substrate rather than on a solid water tray. Openings in its base allow drainage, so it is a container for your moss patch, not a water bowl. Position it where you can comfortably reach both release tabs; pull them outwards and lift the lid to open it.

A contained moss patch is one part of the enclosure layout. Keep the wider damp and drier areas in mind when choosing its position. Our isopod habitat setup guide explains how to arrange these areas alongside substrate, cover and airflow.

Fill it your way

Moss is not included, so you can use moss you already have or buy it separately. If you need some, our sphagnum moss is available as a separate product.

If you are choosing between containing a moss patch and adding covered shelter, compare moss holders and covered refuges to find the option that serves your intended purpose.

Choose 1 box for a single moss patch, or 2 or 4 when organising several patches or enclosures. The material is PETG, with black as standard and other colours available on request.

For cleaning, remove the moss, rinse or clean the box with water and avoid contaminants.
